Job Brief:

 

6th Avenue Food Market and Smoke Shop LTD is looking for an experienced and dynamic Retail Store Supervisor with good leadership skills to join its team at the earliest, responsible for managing a retail staff within a business. Coordinates the shipping of goods, sets up displays and assist customers and staff during business hours.

 

Job Duties:

 

• Supervise and co-ordinate sales staff and cashiers to ensure that they complete their assigned tasks in a timely manner
• Assign sales workers to duties and prepare work schedules
• Sell merchandise to customers
• Resolve problems that arise, such as customer complaints and supply shortages
• Maintain specified inventory and order merchandise
• Work with the cash register when needed and change signage in the store to reflect any in-store promotions
• Formulate pricing policies and ensure pricing is correct
• Analyze operating and financial statements for profitability ratios
• Utilize information technology to record sales figures, for data analysis and forward planning
• Manage different departments within the store
• Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met

 

Other Job Requirements:

 

• Language: Basic English is a requirement

• Education: Completion of High School is required
• Experience: 7 months to 1 year of supervisory experience within the retail sector or previous experience as a retail salesperson or sales clerk, cashier will be considered

 

Core skills:

 

• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Have financial skills to create budgets, enter data into spreadsheets, use financial software and analyze expense reports
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be attentive and detail-oriented
