Surespan Structures Ltd located at 3721 Drinkwater Road, Duncan, British Columbia, V9L 6P2, is looking for one (1) full-time Engineering Surveyor Technician/Estimator reporting to the Operations Manager. The applicant will work from the primary address as well as travelling to various construction project sites.
Surespan Structures Ltd is working on heavy civil construction projects with a focus on bridge construction and remote access. Producing pre-cast concrete bridges and steel deck portable bridges primarily for the forestry to producing large precast and prestressed permanent for diverse clients. Our Company also produces architectural and structural concrete panels, earth and retaining walls, coping, road barriers, girders, pipe and pipeline weights, anchors and utility vaults. Engineering Surveyor Technician
Duties will be on heavy construction bridge projects that include but not limited to:
· Pile Driving Alignment Surveys
· Structure layout and data logging
· AutoCAD drafting and presentation
· GNSS Hydrographic/Lidar data collection
· Data reduction and project deliverables
· Research survey records and land titles to obtain information about property boundaries and areas to be surveyed and coordinates findings with the work of engineers, clients and others involved in projects
· Verifies the accuracy of field survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites
· Work successfully as an integral team member to achieve project goals
· Strong commitment to Health, Safety & Environment
· Travel to various construction project sites
· Perform other technical functions in support of civil engineering activities
· English is the language used in the workplace
Estimator
Duties will be for bridge construction projects:
· Analyzing plans, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare bid estimates for bridge projects.
· Performing complete estimates on selected bridge projects consisting of project site visit, quantity take-off, and pricing.
· Performing all aspects of bidding including, but not limited to, procuring new projects to bid, ordering proposals, bridge project site investigation, materials and subcontractor solicitation, estimating labour and equipment costs, and creating bid proposals.
· Liaising with all levels of management, clients and contacts
· Contacting and developing business relationships with subcontractors and suppliers for pricing within estimates.
· Preparing final estimate summaries, analyzing each section for scope, pricing, and completeness.
Wages and Benefits
· $110,000 per annum/paid bi-weekly
· Working 40 normal hours per week
· Possibility of working on stat holidays due to nature of the business
· 10 vacation days per year
· Company will provide a laptop and cellphone
· Annual bonus payable at discretion of management
